Feedback AAD 2017

Welcome to the Highlights from AAD 2017

We are excited to bring you the highlights from the 2017 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD). This year the meeting was held in Orlando, Florida from March 3rd to March 7th 2017. As in previous years, the international day was held on March 2, 2017, a day prior to the conference, and was a resounding success. The international day continues to offer speakers the opportunity to develop and conduct educational programs that highlight their work to colleagues around the world.

The highlights from this year provide a comprehensive view of the AAD meeting with topics ranging from systemic disease, autoinflammatory conditions, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and many others. Recent clinical trial reviews, biologic treatments, and emerging therapies are also provided. The focus of individualized medicine has also surfaced in dermatology and will be explored more fully.
A greater understanding of current research goals and target identification have made an impact in psoriasis and atopic dermatitis, and clinical trials exploring immunologic relations have been optimized to provide a comprehensive review of pathologies and possible treatment opportunities.
Late-breaking research articles have been developed to provide updates on new therapies and new research findings for a variety of dermatology areas. Key summary slides for each article have also been developed and can be used in tandem with or as a standalone resource to educate and inform both dermatologists and colleagues/employees in clinical practice. As an added benefit, there are also interviews available from key opinion leaders (KOL) in the field. Each KOL provides detailed insight into a dermatology subsection with commentary, clinical pearls, and suggestions that may impact clinical practice. Be sure to access these interviews to gain insight into different areas from an expert in the field.
Lastly, take a moment to listen to the interview with the current president, Dr. Henry W. Lim, to gain a greater perspective on the objectives and focus for AAD in the coming year. We hope these resources will aid in improving clinical practice and provide a strong educational opportunity for you and your colleagues.
